WARRENTON, VA.—Airlie Center General Manager Kevin Carter announces the promotion of Jeremy Anderson to Executive Chef. A member of the culinary team for more than nine years, Anderson has worked hand-in-hand with Culinary Director Jeff Witte who served as Executive Chef for 11 years.

“Chef Anderson has been working with Chef Witte for many years and is ready to take Airlie’s culinary program to the next level,” says Carter. “Jeremy’s culinary talents will allow him to tell lots of stories about sophisticated simplicity through his creations.”

As partners, Witte and Anderson have developed a sustainable, local and organic program. Anderson’s passion for educating his team as well as Airlie guests on the “simple sophistication” of great meals has been the foundation for his consistent delivery of unique food presentations.

Style Focused on Local, Seasonal Ingredients

Anderson has a passion for learning and expanding his cooking prowess. His Neo-American style is centered on local and seasonal ingredients, either grown at Airlie’s own Local Food Project or provided by local farmers. He believes the farm-to-table approach makes each meal have a fresh and unique taste. Anderson is responsible for the establishment of the house made bread production, house preserves and jams, and created the five-course menu concept the property offers as part of a signature weekend package program for social and leisure guests.

Anderson will be working as part of the leadership team to launch a new restaurant concept in late winter, 2014. Additionally, his culinary team will be designing new catering menus and specialty menus for holiday and seasonal events.

Anderson, who grew up in the area, earned a culinary diploma from the Art Institute of Washington. While at Culinary school, Jeremy was recognized with the Art Institute’s Washingtonian Award. The honor recognizes the student for outstanding work during training. With an artistic background, he has been able to combine his love for cooking and creativity. Prior to joining Airlie he began honing his culinary talents at several popular restaurants in the region. He currently resides in Culpeper, Va., with his wife and young son. When not leading his culinary team, he enjoys spending time with his family, painting or being artistic, playing and watching sports, and going to the beach in North Carolina.
