Twenty-seven LEO A DALY Employees Pass LEED AP Exam

OMAHA, NEB.—LEO A DALY, an international architecture, planning, engineering, interior design and program management firm, announced that 27 of its employees have recently become Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals (APs). LEED APs pass an exam to demonstrate a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System, a third-party sustainable design and construction verification tool created by the United States Green Building Council.

The employees who received accreditation are technical designer Kenwood Burrows, senior associate and architect Mark A. Chalkley, intern architect Jay Chavda, junior interior designer Maria T. Araiza Davalos, interior designer April Diaz, senior project electrical engineer Gregory Doll, architect Rafael Fleitas, structural engineer-in-training Cesar Garcia, project architect Kevin Glade, senior project architect Jeffrey Hemer, architectural intern Thomas Jackson, associate and senior architect Gary Koyama, architect Anette Lyons-Evans, interior designer Candra Mathis, and senior project architect/project manager Ronald Olsen.

Others who received accreditation include mechanical technician Gabe Pescosolido, director of interiors Michelle Ives Ratkovich, interior designer Heather Robbins, project manager Kathy Rod, intern architect Shelly-Anne Scott, mechanical engineer-in-training Brian Sheffer, junior architectural designer Megumi Shimazu, senior electrical engineer Choochart Sornpao, electrical engineer-in-training Shawn Stockwell, architect-in-training Leslie Suhr, architect Alan H. Tast and architect John Townsend.

LEO A DALY, which has a total of 166 LEED APs, incorporates extensive sustainable design principles into many of its projects, including the following LEED-certified buildings:

• University of California, Merced, Science and Engineering Building, Merced, Calif., LEED-NC Gold Certification;
• Carl T. Curtis, Midwest Regional Headquarters Building, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, Omaha, Neb., LEED-NC Gold Certification;
• Roberts Wesleyan College, B. Thomas Golisano Library, Rochester, N.Y., LEED-NC Silver Certification; and
• GSA, US District Courthouse at Newport News, Newport News, Va., LEED-NC Certified.
