CHICAGO— Mr. Bamboo, Inc. is introducing BamLoc strand-woven “click” or “floating” bamboo flooring for eco-friendly commercial spaces. BamLoc is the first 100 percent solid strand-woven floating bamboo floor with a unique interlocking design. The sustainability, durability and natural beauty of strand-woven bamboo flooring make it a popular choice for designers, builders and remodelers. This wide-plank, strand-woven bamboo is ideal for heavy traffic areas. BamLoc is also ideal for spaces with subfloor environments.

Mr. Bamboo created BamLoc to be just as strong as BamStrand, the company’s nail-down bamboo floor. BamLoc is not a composite; it is the latest innovation in bamboo flooring and the only 100 percent solid bamboo floating floor in the market. BamLoc comes in three random lengths of 2’, 4’, and 6’ sections that are 5 1/8” wide and 7/16” thick to create an interesting and versatile flooring design. Mr. Bamboo offers BamLoc in two colors—the natural color and the caramelized or coffee color.

BamLoc contains no VOCs; it utilizes a formaldehyde-free adhesive in the lamination process and conforms to the stringent European E1 standards. The flooring is finished with six coats of a water-based ceramic sealer finish. This finish is also solvent-free and non-off gassing—so it is healthy for better breathing.

Includes Glue-less Locking System

BamLoc is the only solid 100 percent strand-woven floating bamboo flooring with a glue-less locking system. Each BamLoc carton holds 20.4 square feet of product. Contractors are advised to add seven to 10 percent extra material for cutting and difficult layout situations.

Although many of the characteristics of bamboo are similar to those of hardwoods, bamboo is not a wood. It is classified as a grass and is much stronger than hardwoods. Bamboo does not shrink or swell like most hardwoods. Strand-woven bamboo is much harder than conventional bamboo flooring.

Unlike typical trees, bamboo takes much less time to grow and is environmentally friendly. There are hundreds of bamboo species that grow almost everywhere in the world. Mr. Bamboo harvests the larger bamboo species called “Moso” in an area where it grows and regenerates naturally. Bamboo is a very stable material for flooring, because it absorbs less moisture and does not shrink or swell as much as other hardwood material.
