LAGRANGE, GA.—Milliken Hospitality announced that all of its carpet collections—broadloom and modular—are now certified to the NSF/ANSI 140-2007 Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard. All collections also achieved carbon neutral certification from the Leonardo Academy without purchased credits.

“Milliken Hospitality has made a commitment to certify all carpet products without exception and meet the highest environmental standards for this industry,” said Bill Gregory, Milliken’s director of sustainability.

Milliken carpet collections attain carbon neutral certification from the Leonardo Academy with credits earned internally from reduced emissions and forest sequestration. Customers for modular products have the option of ES backing with NSF-140 Gold ranking or ESP backing with increased post-consumer content and NSF-140 Platinum ranking. All broadloom collections meet NSF-140 Gold certification criteria. This includes meeting performance and environmental requirements for: public health and environment; energy and energy efficiency; bio-based, recycled and Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) materials; manufacturing operations; reclamation; and end-of-life management.

Urban Chic in New Del Lago Line

Milliken Hospitality’s Del Lago is the latest collection in the award winning étage concept of designing carpet in customizable layers. Del Lago offers the designer a collection of contemporary patterns and motifs that range from bold, dramatic statement pieces to exquisite motifs that can be quickly and easily customized for public spaces and even guestrooms. Del Lago helps designers deliver a new level of urban chic. Graceful lines and rhythmic flow mesh to produce dynamic statements or quiet elegance depending upon color selection and the designer’s imagination.

Del Lago is available in a range of tufted, cut-pile and textured broadloom constructions. Milliken also offers the option to recreate the Del Lago collection in modular format using the 36-inch, cushion back Grand Plaza carpet tile.

No other carpet products contribute more toward LEED certification. Milliken’s 100 percent post-consumer recycled closed loop system is the only modular carpet product classified as refurbished or reused that contributes to LEED. Bio-based, adhesive-free TractionBack modular installation and First Appearances Entry Systems also may contribute to LEED. Milliken Hospitality follows principles of Ecountability, through the entire carpet life cycle as part of its Eco360 initiative.

In addition, Milliken offers a real time tool that allows the user to manipulate and simplify custom carpet design. The new online application (www.etage.milliken.com) makes it quick and easy to change colors, add and subtract layers, pattern elements and motifs and view the design in a room scene.
