NEW YORK CITY—The arrival of the InterContinental New York Times Square as New York City’s newest and largest new-build hotel has created an active media buzz from highly respected media outlets in travel and hospitality to design to environmental publications. Situated on 44th Street just west of Times Square, the 607-room hotel is in the heart of the Broadway Theatre district, and a short stroll from Fifth Avenue shopping and Central Park. Articles have appeared in major publications such as The New York Times and the International Herald Tribune.

The InterContinental New York Times Square is committed to the environment and has undertaken a number of green initiatives in its pursuit of LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), an internationally recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Green Buildings NYC and Hospitality Design have featured articles on the new hotel’s commitment to being one of the most environmentally responsible New York City hotels.

As the property gets closer to opening this July, more than 40 online publications have featured the InterContinental Hotel New York Times Square including Smarter Travel, Hotel Chatter, Hotel Interactive, Crain’s New York Business Letter, Hotel Design and Hotel Journal.

The hotel will feature 10,000 square feet of meeting space, 24-hour business and fitness center, a lobby featuring a courtyard viewing garden and a signature restaurant, Ça Va by celebrity Chef Todd English. The restaurant includes an intimate dining space available for private events and a bar and lounge area overlooking Broadway that captures the energy of the Theatre District and the urban appeal of historic Hell’s Kitchen.

The new InterContinental New York Times Square is featuring behind the scenes updates on the hotel opening with their already active Facebook and Twitter communities.
