ORLANDO, FLA.—Hobart introduces Cle, its next generation of durable and reliable conveyor warewashers. The Cle is more productive, more energy efficient and uses less space than most other conveyor warewashers in the industry. Incorporating the latest warewashing technology in one machine, the new CLe delivers clean and sanitized dishware at a lower cost. Hobart also now offers the new CLe blower dryer, which uses 76 percent less energy and 45 percent less space than prior models and is designed to operate with the warewasher as one CLe system.

The new CLe Warewasher is Energy Star qualified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its energy- and water-saving advantages. Final rinse water usage is as low as .39 gallons per rack.

“Hobart’s new CLe is designed to help foodservice and food retail operations enhance performance, minimize waste and save on valuable floor space,” said Phil Ratermann, vice president and general manager of Hobart’s Warewash unit. “The CLe helps lower the costs of operation and ownership by being more efficient, using less energy and contributing to a reduced carbon footprint.”

Saving Energy and Water

The new CLe Warewasher employs Hobart’s patent-pending NSF-Certified Opti-Rinse system for saving energy and water. Technologically advanced rinse spray nozzles save more than 50 percent of water and energy than the industry-standard fan-spray nozzles and yet deliver stronger performance. Foodservice and food retail operations can realize a savings of up to $9,192 annually with Opti-Rinse.

Additionally, an energy-saving Auto-Timer is configured to automatically shut off the pumps and conveyor after a predetermined time, once the rack exits the machine. It restarts the warewasher when a new rack enters. The customer can set an exclusive Energy-Saver mode to automatically shut off the heating elements after one to six hours of inactivity for even more savings.

The Power Scrapper prewash is specially designed to remove heavier food soil. Its high-efficiency design saves water, energy, labor and detergent. Additionally, wash water stays cleaner longer, reducing the need for refills. Its 22-inch size saves valuable dish room floor space to maintain an open environment, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint compared to 36-inch-size units.

Other energy-saving components include:

• Hobart’s patent-pending thermal layered curtains reduce heat loss at both the load and unload ends an average of 2 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit. The insulated front of the CLe model not only helps keep the heat—and noise—inside, but also makes the outside cooler to the touch.

• Deep tanks create a smaller surface area that helps maintain water temperature and reduce energy. The deep-tank design also saves water by requiring fewer refills and reduces water, energy and detergent costs.

• Reduced size and booster heater requirements.

• Hobart’s cascading water system on dual-tank machines conserves energy and water by replenishing each tank with the heated water from the adjacent tank as it moves through the machine from the rinse to prewash area.

• Automatic drain closers reduce labor, water, energy and detergent.
