OTTAWA, ONTARIO—The Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program has entered into a partnership with Savannah Green Leaf of Johannesburg, South Africa, to deliver the Green Leaf Program to South Africa and surrounding countries. “We are incredibly excited to be helping George Nyathi and Savannah Green Leaf introduce our rating system to South Africa,” says Kevin Gallagher, president of Green Leaf Environmental.

Savannah Green Leaf will be responsible for marketing and sales as well as the technical and administrative functions for the program in South Africa with the opportunity to take the program to other countries as well.

“I’m looking forward to introducing the program to South Africa,” says George Nyathi, director for Savannah Green Leaf. “It’s long overdue and I think there will be a great demand for the program in our lodging industry.”

The Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program for Hotels is a third-party eco-certification and education program managed jointly by Green Leaf Environmental and Audubon International. The program rates properties from one to five green leafs based on their environmental performance. To learn more about the program, go to http://greenleaf.auduboninternational.org.
