ASPEN/SNOWMASS, COLO.—Aspen Skiing Co. has selected Green Mountain Coffee Roasters to be the “Official Coffee of Aspen/Snowmass,” as well as its newest resort partner. As part of the partnership, guests of Aspen/Snowmass will enjoy daily complimentary samples of Green Mountain’s Fair Trade Certified Organic French Roast coffee at the base of all four resort mountains—Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Aspen Skiing Co. will also serve Green Mountain coffees exclusively at on-mountain restaurants, offices, The Tavern at The Little Nell hotel, and The Snowmass Club.
Aspen Skiing Co. and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters have both received accolades for their commitment to sustainability in their respective industries. Aspen Skiing Co. was awarded the 2006 Golden Eagle Award for Overall Environmental Excellence by a ski resort and for three years has been ISO 14001 certified, a third-party certification for environmental leadership.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has also been recognized as a leader in corporate social responsibility. The company offers one of the most extensive selections of double-certified, Fair Trade organic coffees in the country, which represent approximately 29 percent of its total coffee volume. Each year, the company contributes at least 5 percent of its pre-tax profits to social and environmental projects that improve the quality of life locally and in coffee-growing communities around the world. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has also been greenhouse gas neutral for over three years through the purchase of renewable energy credits.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters will also be providing Aspen Skiing Co. with its all-natural hot beverage paper cups. This revolutionary eco-friendly cup is lined with a bio-plastic made from corn, making it the only hot beverage cup made from fully renewable materials.
