MALVERN, PA.—USA Technologies announced that six more energy utilities have signed on to its EnergyMiser Rebate and Turnkey Program to help their customers lower energy consumption and cost. As part of their conservation efforts, 55 energy utilities in the United States are now offering USA Technologies’ EnergyMiser energy conservation technology to their customers for free, or at reduced cost through rebates. Thirty-three utilities had joined in just the past year.

“Energy costs are forecasted to rise by as much as 20 percent this winter, and our EnergyMiser energy conservation technology has the capability of reducing energy consumption by as much as 46 percent,” said Wendy Jenkins, vice president of marketing, USA Technologies. “We are excited to be working with energy utilities that recognize the importance of conservation technology and offer the EnergyMiser as a product that makes a difference.”

The latest utilities to join the rebate and turnkey program include Alliant Energy, of Iowa; Ameren, of Illinois; Groton Utilities, of Connecticut; Bozrah Light & Power Company, of Connecticut; MidAmerican Energy, of Iowa; and Tucson Electric Power Company, of Arizona. In addition, three utilities already participating in the rebate program have increased or extended their rebate offerings—the City of Palo Alto, Calif.; Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Calif.; and Silicon Valley Power, of California.

The number of energy utilities participating in the program has more than doubled over the past 12 months, as energy prices hit new record highs. For more information and a full list of the utility companies offering their customers rebates ranging between $15 to $180, or free under the turnkey program, visit www.usatech.com/energy_management/energy_rebates.php.

USA Technologies studies have found that if the estimated four million vending machines and 10 million coolers in the United States were equipped with EnergyMisers, calculated at 35 percent savings, the nation could save 15,330,000,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and lower C02 emission by 22,995,000,000 pounds annually.
